Samuel Coyle

Samuel Coyle is a 16 year old American guitarist from Rochester, New York. In addition to Montreal, he has competed at the 2014 Great Lakes Guitar Festival in Buffalo, New York, in which he won second-prize for the youth division. Sam studies classical guitar in Rochester at the Eastman School of Music's Community Music School in the studio of Dr. Lynn McGrath. He previously studied 4 years at Eastman with Dr. Petar Kodzas. Sam began studying classical guitar at the age of 5 under the tutelage of John Weisenthal at Rochester's Hochstein School of Music. In addition to classical guitar, he enjoys playing the electric guitar in his high school jazz band, playing clarinet in the concert band and swimming for the high school swim team. He and his sister Mimi, spend summers in Hokkaido, Japan with his mother's family.
